Elephant Talk

Writing this in front of the TV, watching a really great gorilla documentary. British television is amazing, especially the nature / natural world stuff. Perhaps a symptom of growing old; we are tired of the usual reality TV rubbish and watch more and more of the dramas and ‘proper’ programs.

With the main road in front of our house still completely closed off, the area has picked up an almost countryside ambiance, it’s so quiet.

Today we walked to the neighbouring Horniman Gardens on the promise of seeing some live folk music on the bandstand. There was a lovely family atmosphere up there despite the earlier rain shower. The music wasn’t quite our cup(s) of tea but it was fun all-the-same. Why anyone with real musical skill would want to play their violin and guitar against a backdrop of programmed, cheesy electronic beats is a mystery to me; I prefer folk-music a little more acoustic.
