Mexico Unexplained

When you rush through a city, you see things you don’t necessarily understand. Between the Cathedral and the Aztec Templo Mayor, there were people performing some kind of smoke ceremony that I could only assume was some sort of cleansing ritual. People were queuing to have their bodies washed with a pungent smelling, thick smoke and wiped with (maybe herbal) leaves.

Combined with loud rhythmic drumming, it was quite intimidating to watch as an outsider. Especially as the one performing the ritual had, among other unexplainable things, fish heads and dead animals at his feet. I will try to find out more about this fascinating sight but for now, that is all I can say. It’s so great to travel and see these things….
