There were a lot of riders on the course throughout the day and we saw quite a few (small) accidents as they gradually learned the best route down. It was so much fun to be there with my camera and because of the rain and darkness of the forest, I was really pleased to have my fixed 50mm lens allowing lots of light in, with a fast shutter speed. I took well over 500 photographs which I have since edited down. Some of the riders were going pretty quick so good shots weren’t easy.
I was with Atsuko, Mum and Ian and we all enjoyed the walk up to the top, the scramble through the forest and we found many great spots to watch the action.
