There is a gap between the east and west lines of traffic of the A12 as it runs over the canals around Hackney. Underneath the roads, protruding up through the gap, is a temporary building here only for the summer. Made of an uncountable number of blocks cut from reclaimed timber, this is yet another space to eat, drink and watch old movies outdoors.
It looked quite interesting, but sadly it was closed when we went at lunchtime on Saturday so we couldn’t see inside, instead we peered through the wire fence surrounding. I can’t believe how popular the desire to use and enjoy increasingly unlikely spaces seems to have become.
